About
Designed by Drift Mural Co., this mural was created by co-founders Anaïs Labrèque and Dominic Laporte. It celebrates Kitimat's five defining landscapes: the Douglas Channel, Kitimat River, rainforest, mountains, and sky, through imagery inspired by local flora and fauna. Originally conceived for a series of highway pillars, the concept was later adapted into a vibrant backdrop for a children's park. The design uses bold silhouettes, layered shapes, and simplified forms to create a contemporary interpretation of Kitimat's natural environment.
