Municipal Elections

Daniel Boudreau is a university-educated safety professional with a Bachelor of Arts, jointly majoring in Psychology and Sociology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Safety Engineering Technology. He served 12 years as an Officer in the Canadian Forces supporting the Canadian Cadet Movement, including roles as Human Rights Advisor and General Safety Officer.

After his service in the Canadian Forces, Daniel built a career spanning public and private sectors, working under federal and provincial regulated jurisdictions, including some of Canada’s largest industrial projects. Beginning in frontline safety coordination, he advanced through senior management positions to lead health, safety, security and environmental programs at the director level.

Community involvement is important to Daniel. He is a past President of the Rotary Club of Kitimat and former President of Biathlon Newfoundland and Labrador. He volunteers with the Canadian Mental Health Association and Kitimat Experiences. For the past two years, he has served on Kitimat’s Advisory Planning Commission, serving as both Vice-Chair and Chair during that time, and continues as a member advising Mayor and Council on planning and development matters.

Daniel is running for Mayor with a focus on action, accountability and results. His priorities include advocating to the Province to address deteriorating school infrastructure and improve local healthcare, while focusing on residential roads and infrastructure, accountability for residential and major industry tax dollars, seniors’ housing, small businesses and responsible industrial development.

He also believes in strengthening Kitimat’s relationship with the Haisla Nation and greater transparency, ensuring residents understand what Council is doing and why decisions are made.

Gregory Judas moved to Kitimat in September 2019 when an opportunity arose to put his education and experience in youth education to work.

Born in Edmonton and raised in communities across Southern British Columbia, Gregory eventually settled in Kamloops, where he studied Business Administration and began a career in youth education through the Canadian Armed Forces Cadet Instructor Cadre. He had first heard about Kitimat in high school and recognized the extraordinary opportunities here. When he learned of an opportunity to work with Coast Mountains School District 82, he packed up and moved north.

Gregory has previously worked as a Youth Support Worker and in Indigenous Literacy. He now works in office administration at Nechako Elementary, where he assists with the day-to-day operation of the school.

Community involvement has been a central part of Gregory’s life in Kitimat. He leads one of Northern BC’s largest youth groups, mobilizing youth for volunteer projects throughout the community whenever their training schedule allows. He has also served as Treasurer and currently serves as Secretary of the Kitimat Museum & Archives. He is a regular member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Gregory’s campaign is centered on building the community Kitimat wants to become. He believes economic development and a strong community go hand in hand. His priorities include making it easier to invest and do business in Kitimat, putting underused land to work, strengthening the downtown, improving services, and creating the conditions for people to build their lives here and stay.

I am proud to be able to call Kitimat home, and work as a registered nurse on the unceded ancestral territory of the Haisla Nation. 

I wanted my platform to be about you. So I took the time to build ankur4kitimat.com for the rest. It covers who I am, what I've done, and makes it easier to see our finances and key issues facing our town.

I'd rather use this space to talk to you.

We know the concerns in our community. People aren't confident healthcare will be there when they need it. Addiction impacts our families, across generations. Housing isn’t affordable, and our renters/older residents are feeling especially squeezed. We do not have enough teachers for our children, and our infrastructure is failing. The volunteer base that holds this community together is thinning. 

We need to be neighbours again.

Kitimat needs our youth, and future professionals to look at our community and see something for them to come back to. 

Kitimat needs those who built Kitimat to to live comfortably, with access to care they deserve.

Kitimat needs our businesses to thrive and grow alongside our industries, without compromising our land, air, water, or health.

This means a council that represents its residents. One that builds stability for everyone, advocates effectively to hold provincial and federal governments accountable, and uses our power to make it easier to live in Kitimat.

I’m Adam Perry, and I’m running for Kitimat Council because I care deeply about our community and its future. My family and I are proud to call Kitimat home, and I want to contribute my experience, energy and practical approach to helping our community thrive.

I hold a PhD in Social Anthropology and have published research on development, resource management, public policy and community well-being. My professional career has focused on major projects and regional development, but I have also worked closely with small and mid-sized businesses and with people facing barriers to employment—helping them access training, certifications and opportunities to participate in project work. I’ve seen firsthand how inclusive economic development can create real opportunities for local businesses and individuals and build stronger, more resilient communities.

I’m running because I believe Kitimat can make the most of the opportunities ahead while protecting what makes our community special—our people, our environment, our strong community spirit and the quality of life we all value.

I value strong relationships with First Nations, whose leadership and participation are key to the development shaping our region and country. I also believe in embracing different perspectives, listening to long-time residents and newcomers alike.

I’m approachable, level-headed and committed to practical solutions. I want to bring that approach to Council—supporting responsible development, pursuing new funding and partnerships, and helping ensure the opportunities before us create lasting benefits for all of Kitimat.
