A joint venture between JGC Corporation and Fluor Corporation - JGC Fluor BC LNG JV - was selected by LNG Canada Development Inc. to be the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for its proposed liquified natural gas (LNG) export terminal in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada.
The joint venture between JGC and Fluor (JFJV) has been established to leverage JGC's extensive experience of LNG projects worldwide, as well as Fluor's expertise accumulated from its outstanding trach record of completing mega - sized projects in North America.
The proposed LNG export facility will liquefy surplus Canadian natural gas so that it can be safely exported to help meet global energy demands. The facility will initially consist of two LNG processing units, referred to as trains, each with the capacity to produce at least 6.5 million tons per annum (mtpa) of LNG per train.
LNG Canada Development Inc. is a joint venture that includes Shell, PETRONAS, PetroChina, Mitsubishi and KOGAS. These five companies are global leaders in LNG, and provide world-class technical expertise in producing, storing, shipping and selling natural gas.
