About the Chamber

Being the voice of business in Kitimat since 1955.

We are a not-for-profit organization comprised of businesses, industry, and community groups working jointly to ensure a healthy business base and positive socio-economic structure that benefits everyone in Kitimat. The Kitimat Chamber relies on membership dues, fundraising events and grant funding to support its activities. This independence from government funding frees the Chamber to be a strong, independent advocate on behalf of the business community, so we truly are the Voice of Business.

We connect members within the local chamber, but through affiliation with the BC and Canadian Chambers, members experience the power and influence of a network of 420 Chambers across the country, with 192,000 businesses of all sizes, in all sectors of the economy, and all regions of the country.

  • We voice our concerns on matters affecting our members.
  • Examine business issues, encourage investment, work to broaden the tax base.
  • Support and collaborate on crime prevention programs.
  • We stay informed on environmental and cultural issues and maintain contact and work with politicians to improve the manner and method of doing business for our district.
  • When it comes to new people and or businesses in our community we are a key resource for researching and understanding Kitimat.
