Land Acknowledgment

Kitimat is located at the head of the Douglas Channel, beside the Kitimat River, on the traditional territory of the Haisla Nation. We acknowledge the privilege of living, working, and playing on these lands.

This acknowledgment is not a substitute for meaningful reconciliation. Rather, it is a first step toward building respectful and enduring relationships with the Indigenous peoples whose lands we share. It reflects our ongoing commitment to listen, learn, and support their rights, cultures, and leadership
