Description:

Regular Part-time, Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day, with flexibility to work additional hours during events and holiday coverage as needed.

The Kitimat Chamber of Commerce is seeking a friendly, organized Membership Experience Coordinator to support member communications, administration, website updates, rentals, and day-to-day operations at the Chamber and Visitor Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute members, including weekly e-blasts, announcements, renewals, and event updates.
  • Respond to member and public inquiries and provide professional customer service by phone, email, and in person.
  • Maintain accurate member records, bookings, documents, website content, and Chamber-related online information.
  • Coordinate rental equipment and boardroom bookings, including schedules, renter communications, payments, pickup, return, and setup.
  • Chamber, Visitor Centre, tourism, and event initiatives through administrative, communication, and logistical assistance.
  • The coordinator will create the Chamber’s marketing initiatives through social media, and other communications that promote Chamber programs, events, and the local business community.
  • The Membership Experience Coordinator will take the lead and work collaboratively on the planning and delivery of Chamber events.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education or experience in business administration, communications, tourism, office administration, customer service, member services, or a related field.
  • Strong written, verbal, customer service, interpersonal, proofreading, and professional phone skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, reliable, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, bookings, and communications.
  • Strong computer skills and confidence using email, websites, office software, and digital systems; experience with CMS or email marketing platforms is an asset.
  • Experience with bookings, rentals, scheduling, facility coordination, social media, or local tourism is an asset.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, take initiative, solve problems, and collaborate as part of a small team.
