Claire Rattée is the MLA for Skeena as well as the Official Opposition Critic for Mental Health, Addictions, and Housing Supports. She was first elected in 2024. She moved to Kitimat in 2011, where she became a successful local business owner. She subsequently devoted four years to serving on Kitimat City Council, where she advocated for policies supporting economic growth, community development, healthcare services, and affordable housing.

Daudet Creek Contracting is a second-generation, family-run company operating primarily within the Kitimat – Smithers – Prince Rupert area.

The Oviatt family initially began work in northwestern BC in the early 1970’s as J. Oviatt Contracting Ltd., an excavation, pipe-laying, and road building contractor. Daudet Creek Contracting Ltd. was established in 2002, initially to provide snow-clearing and hauling, complimenting the services offered by J. Oviatt Contracting.
