Northwest Regional Airport serves the British Columbia communities of Terrace and Kitimat. Several carriers offer daily flights to destinations including Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria, Prince George and Prince Rupert.

Kitimat Museum & Archives is a two-floor multi-purpose facility for community and natural history and visual arts. Galleries feature the Haisla First Nation heritage collection, European settlement, fauna geology, fossils, and changing arts displays. Also featured, town and smelter construction with the creation of the Power Project for aluminum production. Visit the Museum's archives and gift shop and explore the Museum's online collection and virtual exhibits. Arts and craft program are available for ages 3 to 9 during the summer and spring breaks.

Kingfish Westcoast Adventure Tours will guide you on the ocean and over 50 rivers and streams located at the Kitimat, Skeena and Nass River watersheds! With this many bodies of water to choose from, they feel very confident with their guiding. It comes with no surprise that clients come back and ask for the same guide year after year. The Kitimat Stikine is home to Steelhead and all five Pacific Salmon species. Every year Chinook, Coho, Pink, Sockeye, Chum Salmon and Steelhead come back to our coastal streams and lakes to spawn. Wild Pacific Salmon, Halibut, Rockfish and Dungeness Crab are waiting for you in the ocean.

Kitimat Estuary B & B is 2600 square foot, 2 level, 5 bedroom lodge is well-situated on a fenced 2.5 acre fully landscaped lot just minutes to Kitimat City Centre. The world famous Kitimat River is within walking distance. Drop off and pick up service is available on the entire river system as well as to the lower tidal section where chrome fish enter the river system and migrates upriver. Opposite the Kitimat fish hatchery is a remote steelhead and salmon run where you can swing a fly or use conventional fishing techniques to catch a trophy fish of a lifetime. The rural location provides a perfect setting for the ultimate retreat.

Guided Fishing
Kitimat Lodge has been operating fishing tours since 1999 and they have created a location where anglers can target Salmon, Steelhead, Halibut and all species fresh from the ocean. Their tours are with local guides that spend more angling time on the water than any other guide in the Northwest. Their lodge is conveniently located near the rivers they fish, so anglers have the boats and guide at your fingertips once you step out of your room.

The lodge will freeze and pack your fish while you stay with them as well can arrange fish processing and smoking. Kitimat Adventures also have a smoker on site for guests wanting to smoke their own fish as they have many local recipes to choose from.

Freshwater Fishing
Kitimat River - Guided trips for monster April Steelhead. June and July they target the largest Salmon species, the Chinook. July, the Pink and Chum Salmon arrive in the thousands. August and September the aggressive and acrobatic Coho Salmon arrive. Kitimat Adventures take you on their rafts and drifboats down this 18 mile stretch before it enters the saltwater of the Douglas Channel.

Saltwater Fishing
Welcome to Kitimat Adventures. This is their Saltwater Adventure that takes you deep into Coastal British Columbia in search of Salmon and Halibut as well as exploring and sightseeing. Departing from the Kitimat Arm, one can expect to venture out in their covered ocean boats to areas untouched by man. The Douglas Channel is a 60 Nautical mile secluded coastline that is sure to offer you a full days fishing adventure, as well taking pictures of Whales, Sea Lions, Dolphins etc. The ecosystem is alive and each day brings new sights and the chance to hook onto a record fish.

Blue Heron Charters is locally owned and has been in operation for over two decades. Offering sport fishing, wildlife tours, and water taxi service on the Douglas Channel in their spacious 24 foot Skagit Orca with extended cabin, private washroom and heated interior.
Blue Heron Charters is Transport Canada licensed, fully insured; and equipped with GPS navigation, sonar, VHF, and radar.
