Ellis Ross, BC Liberal MLA for Skeena

Ellis Ross, after 6 successful years as Chief Councillor of the Haisla Nation and 8 years as Councillor, Ellis Ross decided to run for MLA. He was voted in as the BC Liberal MLA for Skeena in 2017.
Ellis has worked for the private sector, the public sector and operated his own business in partnership with his brothers through the lean 1990's.
He was awarded the Order of British Columbia in 2014 in recognition of his community leadership. In 2012 Premier Clark appointed him as the inaugural Chair of the Aboriginal Business and Investment Council. She also presented him with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for Community Service.
Ellis was born and raised in Kitimat. He and his wife Tracey have 2 daughters and, to their delight, 1 grandchild. He is active in golf, soccer and basketball. For the past 12 years, he has coached and assisted Haisla basketball teams. He also coached the MESS Senior girls basketball team to a zone championship.
