Dal Monte’s Wood-Craft Ltd. has been serving the community of Kitimat for over 46 years and has a friendly staff that would be pleased to help you with any of your wood processing requirements. Although the business originally produced high quality wood cabinets and furniture, it is now specialized to produce wood packaging products that meet International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15 Compliant). ISPM 15 compliance ensures that wood packaging exported from Canada will not contain any pests or diseases that could infect forests in other countries. Generally, this achieved by ensuring that all wood used in our production process has been heat treated in a certified facility. The primary product of Dal Monte’s Wood-Craft is hardwood dunnage or runners that are strapped to the large sheet ingots at Rio Tinto’s Aluminum smelter. Maple and birch timbers from Quebec are used as the softwoods of BC are not strong enough to support the massive sheets of aluminum. Pallets and crates are the second part of the core business at Dal Monte’s. The shop is equipped to construct anything from standard 48×40 pallets to custom crates to ship large equipment, parts, or even helicopters. Other products and services include: wedges, stakes, off-site carpentry, planing, band sawing, and table sawing. Additionally, the building has a 2400 sq. ft. shop with 600 sq. ft. office/storefront available for lease.
