Celebrating 70 years!
Tourism Kitimat, in collaboration with the District of Kitimat and the Haisla Nation, is working on a five-year strategic plan. This plan focuses on destination marketing, visitor services, and development to grow a strong, year-round visitor economy.
Input, review, and comments from tourism providers are needed to help shape how Kitimat welcomes and engages visitors.
By attracting visitors year-round and encouraging respect for the land and culture, the plan will help improve quality of life for residents while building a sustainable local economy.
Kitimat Five-Year Plan: 2026–2031
Vision: Kitimat is working to sustainably develop and promote our Northern BC destination as part of The Great Wilderness brand. Our vision is a vibrant, year-round visitor economy that generates jobs, grows tourism businesses and revenues, and contributes to residents’ quality of life.
